The Department of Energy (DOE) has awarded service contracts to 22 hydro power projects in Davao Region with a total potential capacity of about 256.35 megawatts (MW).
The projects were divided by DOE into pre-development service contract and development service contract.
The pre-development service contracts, according to DOE Mindanao senior science research specialist, Engr. Rolando J. Fara-on, "will allow the companies to begin complying the needed required documents, certificates, endorsements, and conducting their feasibility studies."
While the development service contracts, are awarded to the companies that were able to complete all the required project documents and are already on the construction phase of their project.

ReplyDeleteInteresting, but just because they've been awarded doesn't mean they'll actually be built. They should get some environmental consulting to get all the proper documents.
